They’re versatile for vertical jigging, trolling, and casting, with powerful drag (40 lbs. at strike, 50 lbs. full) and a solid metal frame. I’ve personally used them on 1 to 3-day trips and even a 7-day long-range trip, landing limits of quality tuna up to 150 lbs. They held up flawlessly against hard-fighting fish. I especially like the Avet HXW Raptor with the larger handle from Amazon. The larger handle makes reeling in the big tuna easier.

I’ve landed tuna up to 150 lbs using the lighter Super Seeker 50-100 lb rod and had unforgettable wide-open bluefin bites with fish between 60-150 lbs.
